Deadline extended to Friday March 1st (midnight). Apply now!
The Sociology Undergraduate Student Association at York University in Toronto, Ontario is pleased to announce the 2019 Annual SUSA Sociology Undergraduate Conference which will take place on Friday, March 15th, 2019.
Things are a bit different this year, as we are opening submissions to students outside of York U! This one-day conference is an ideal introductory event for undergraduates who have always wanted to present their original works but may have felt intimidated submitting to larger academic conferences.
Students from any discipline, year of study, or academic institution are encouraged to submit a 300-Word abstract, given that the topic is Sociological in nature. Further details regarding the application process can be found in our submission form, which is available HERE. The submission deadline is March 1st, 2019.
Please come prepared with a 10 to 15 minute (max) oral presentation and PowerPoint on a USB, if necessary. Each panel will be overseen by a York University professor, with prizes for best presentation, as well as best paper (if you wish to submit a full-length paper, though this is not a requirement).
Food will be provided for the afternoon event, and we will have YorkU delegates available to meet with students who may be traveling from outside the GTA. Many universities offer students conference travel awards and bursaries, so we encourage you to inquire with your undergraduate chair.
If you are seeking any further information or have questions about the conference, please contact SUSA Executive members and conference co-chairs Francis Wong & Alexandria Pavelich at susaconference@gmail.com.
We look forward to seeing you, soon!
